Description
The Trekinetic K2 (MK3) is a revolutionary, ultra-lightweight, all-terrain manual wheelchair engineered to deliver unmatched freedom, performance, and adaptability. Designed and hand-built in the UK using advanced composite materials and race-inspired technologies, the K2 shatters expectations for what a wheelchair should achieve.
Key Features & Benefits
Carbon-fiber structure for minimal weight, maximum strength
By replacing the traditional metal chassis with a carbon fiber seat frame, the K2 dramatically reduces its own weight while maintaining rigidity and durability. The chair starts from just 15 kg (without front wheels) – making it one of the lightest all-terrain wheelchairs on the market.
Its unique seat structure also flexes slightly with your body, offering more comfort and shock absorption over rough surfaces.
All-terrain capability + compact maneuverability
Despite its off-road strength, the three-wheel design ensures every wheel stays fully grounded on uneven terrain, delivering stability and traction where four-wheel designs struggle. Whether traversing mud, gravel, sand, or snow, the K2 is built to go where others can’t.
At the same time, it maintains a 1 m turning circle – meaning it’s nimble indoors and capable of navigating tight doorways and urban layouts.
Compact & transportable
The K2 is engineered for real life. The front wheels detach with a simple click, and the rear caster folds behind the seat – enabling easy fitting into compact vehicles. This portability ensures your mobility isn’t limited to your driveway or flat surfaces.
Safety, tested & certified
Your protection matters. The K2 has undergone crash testing to ISO 7176-19, so it’s safe to remain seated in the wheelchair while the chair is restrained in a moving vehicle (when used with Trekinetic’s 5-point vehicle restraint system).
It also features a dynamic braking system that lets you slow, stop, or pivot without touching a wheel – with optional attendant brakes available too.
Flexible & customisable
Choose from a wide array of options — seat liners, headrests, growth kits (child through adult), etc. The patented Varicam system gives you a 0-16° seat camber adjustment in about 10 seconds (no tools required), allowing you to fine-tune the chair’s handling to your style or terrain. The rear shock absorber further enhances ride smoothness and helps reweight the chair when going downhill.
